The perfect ingredients for radiant skin

There are a series of ingredients that can help us have radiant skin. Find out which ones!

We all dream of having “porcelain skin.” But, our skin is not always the same, all the time. Sometimes it's oilier, sometimes drier, and it probably changes with the seasons, too.

Depending on what you are looking for from your skin, there are certain ingredients that are more suitable than others.

Furthermore, it is important that your skin not only looks radiant, but is truly healthy and well.

To keep your skin healthy, you may be increasingly curious or concerned about purchasing “clean” skin care products and cosmetics.

At Jongleur, we fully support the clean skincare movement and that's why we formulate all of our products without parabens, phthalates, SLS or formaldehydes.

Here are some ingredients that have stood the test of time and are worth adding to your skincare routine:

Hyaluronic acid

One of our favorites. Hyaluronic acid acts like a sponge, attracting water and then trapping it in the skin. This means that it not only moisturizes, but can also help plump skin and fine lines as it can hold up to a thousand times its own weight in water.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar in our body, we produce it ourselves until approximately the age of 20, so it is very important to continue providing it to our skin after that age.

aloe vera extract

It is an extract that soothes and hydrates the skin while providing antioxidant benefits.

In addition, it has moisturizing properties. The leaf of the aloe vera plant is rich in water, particularly in the innermost layer, so it helps hydrate the skin and retain moisture. The sugars it contains help retain moisture in the skin.

Oil Grape

This oil moisturizes, lightens dark circles, fades scars, tightens the skin and prevents sun damage.

It is widely known for its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, but also contains high amounts of omega fatty acids and vitamin E2.

Studies have shown that grape seed oil can protect against sun damage and promote collagen repair.

jojoba oil

Jojoba oil is a great moisturizer. This means that it works to attract water to the top layer of the skin, helping to keep the skin hydrated. This can help prevent the formation of bacterial infections and acne.

This ingredient contains natural forms of vitamin E. This vitamin works with your skin as an antioxidant. This means it can help your skin combat oxidative stress caused by daily exposure to pollutants and other toxins.

Additionally, it regulates sebum production, because it is very similar to the sebum that your body produces naturally.

When you put jojoba oil on your skin, your skin calms and hydrates.

Retinol (vitamin a)

This is one of the most effective ingredients to transform the skin. It is part of a larger group known as retinoids.

Because it increases the rate at which cells regenerate, which also speeds up the exfoliation process, retinol is a great anti-aging ingredient to combat fine lines and sun damage. For the same reasons, it is also good for combating blemishes. So if you are dealing with acne, this product is for you.

Niacinamide (vitamin b3)

If you have any type of redness or irritation, or a condition like rosacea, niacinimide is a good choice. A form of vitamin B3, niacinamide helps soothe inflamed skin. Plus, it has the added benefit of combating unwanted pigmentation.

Vitamin C

It is the best antioxidant to brighten the skin. Not only is it a great antioxidant that helps neutralize skin-damaging free radicals caused by exposure to environmental factors like the sun and pollution, but it also interferes with the production of excess pigment in the skin, helping to fade stains and discoloration. And if all that wasn't enough, it also helps stimulate collagen production.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can be effective in reducing UV damage to the skin. Applied topically it can help nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals.

Beta-glucan

This ingredient is a powerful moisturizer.

When it comes to locking in hydration and preventing moisture loss, beta glucan may be even more effective than hyaluronic acid. We know, how is that possible? Well, beta glucan may be able to hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, so it is very good at penetrating deep into the skin and making it more supple while filling in fine lines and wrinkles.

Glycerin

Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a humectant found naturally in the skin that helps keep it looking soft, moisturized and healthy. Used topically in combination with other emollients and antioxidants, it has proven to be very effective in restoring the skin.
